Mookaite is an Australian jasper, found only in the Kennedy Ranges of Western Australia in outcroppings near Mooka Creek, the area for which it is named. The Aboriginal term “Mooka” means “running waters” and refers to the numerous springs that feed into this area.
It is a very painterly stone, describing the rich, bold colours of the Australian landscape. It is an Indigenous Mother Earth stone, allowing us to connect with the electromagnetic currents of the earth. It is very nurturing and supportive during times of stress, and promotes an ageless quality, allowing us to accept change more readily. It also stabilises the health of the whole body and strengthens the immune system.
All of the Mookaite used in my jewellery is sourced direct-trade from the person who has found the stones, and cut by me into cabochons.
